"Welcome to BHC a place where there are opportunities to build strong connections."

- Peggy K. Wolf
President

You're always welcome at BHC

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation (BHC) is the largest Reform congregation in Maryland, providing members of all ages with a variety of resources to worship, learn, and celebrate Judaism together.

We are a progressive community. With roots in traditional Reform Judaism, we seek new and innovative ways to explore our religious heritage, while celebrating our customs and rituals. "Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars" brought together more than 5,000 people to celebrate the Jewish New Year with an outdoor worship service at Oregon Ridge Park. Our clergy and members work together to integrate Reform traditions into creative programs and services to celebrate holidays and learn about Judaism.

We are a dynamic community. Our members are active and involved in a variety of groups and activities. Social Action programs focus on volunteer and outreach opportunities. In Baltimore, we held a joint Martin Luther King, Jr. Day commemoration with First Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church and worked with Habitat for Humanity. Beyond our community, we provided hands-on assistance in New Orleans with Habitat for Humanity.

We are a diverse community, welcoming people of all backgrounds. We embrace individuals, couples and families, interfaith, those who have converted to Judaism, and same sex couples. Together, we are a congregation of individuals and families, living throughout the Maryland-D.C. area, and have created a warm and inclusive Jewish community. We welcome you to join us!

BHC offers exciting programming for everyone, from preschoolers and children to teens to young adults to families to "empty nesters" and seniors. We continue to grow and welcome all who are interested in exploring the many facets of Reform Jewish life.

Come join us...for worship, social gatherings, and/or holiday celebrations. Experience the warm, welcoming, spiritual, and inclusive community that is BHC.
