A page in the Book of Memorial, or in combination with a Sanctuary Seat Plaque, may be dedicated as a memorial to your loved one. OfferingsAnnouncement of get well, thanksgiving, special occasion and in memory offerings are listed in the Shabbat Supplement and subsequently printed in the Temple Bulletin. Minimum contribution $15 or prepaid 10 for $100. BHC members may contribute an offering by calling the Temple Office, 410-764-1587, or by e-mailing offerings@bhcong.org. Others may contribute by mailing a check to Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, Attention: Contributions, 7401 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208. Be sure to send your offerings in to BHC by Wednesday of each week in order to have them included in the Shabbat Supplement. Simcha Tree of Life: Inscribe Yourself and Your Family into BHC HistoryInscribe yourself and your family into BHC history on the beautiful Tree of Life in the Hoffberger Chapel hallway. You can commemorate a current or past simcha - birth, bris or baby naming, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Confirmation, graduation, wedding or anniversary - iby purchasing leaves that will be engraved and mounted on the tree. Douglas and Hilda Perl Goodwin Music FundSupports musical programs at BHC, commissioning and recording of liturgical music, and the purchase of musical equipment. Alice Hecht Memorial FundSponsors a continuing adult education forum with topics of interest to the Congregation and members of the Sisterhood. The E.B. and Allan Hirsh, Jr. Early Childhood FundProvides funding for pre-kindergarten educational services of BHC. The Ellinor O. and Allan T. Hirsh, Sr. Preschool Scholarship FundProvides scholarship assistance to families with preschool age children. Judaica Museum FundPurchases and maintains symbols and artifacts for the Judaica Museum located in the hallway to the right of the Hoffberger Chapel and in the Hoffberger Gallery hallway. Dr. Bennett I. Kemper High Holy Day Memorial Flower FundProvides flowers for congregants unable to attend High Holy Day services and flowers for the main Sanctuary bema for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Leah and Morton Kemper Family Education Enrichment ProgramEndows family education programs in the Religious School Bernice S. Kramer Memorial FundSupports an annual Sisterhood program, perpetuating the memory of and reflecting the many interests of Bernice S. Kramer, with maximum access to Sisterhood members. Library EndowmentThis fund requires a minimum donation of $2,000. These gifts supplement the operating costs of the Julius and Doris Myerberg Library. Library GiftsPurchases books and other appropriate materials for the Julius and Doris Myerberg Library. Lieberman Memorial Lectureship FundFunds annual lectures and other programs at the Congregation to memorialize Rabbi Morris Lieberman. Rabbi Morris L. Lieberman Memorial Scholarship FundProvides an annual memorial scholarship award named for the late Rabbi Morris L. Lieberman to be used to benefit future generations of Jewish leadership and scholarship in Baltimore. Sylvia and Dr. Arthur J. Mandy Camp Scholarship FundProvides Jewish camp scholarships for congregational families, in consultation with the senior rabbi. Estelle & Kayton Moses Mitzvah Day FundProvides funds for an annual Mitzvah Day program. Celia and Samuel Novick Children's Book FundPurchases books for children to be used by BHC Religious School, to be housed in the Julius and Doris Myerberg Library. Boris O'Mansky Youth Leadership FundPromotes the development of future leaders in Reform Judaism by sponsoring youth scholarships to national conferences and workshops. Rex D. Perlmeter Lifelong Learning FundProvides Congregants the continuity of educational and spiritual learning. Perpetual Memorial - $600A memorial for everlasting remembrance of a loved one. The Cantor Joseph and Sylvia Rosenfeld Multi-Media FundProvides enriching specialized Judaic musical materials, such as books, records, tapes, films and discs. Located in the Julius and Doris Myerberg Library, the Rosenfeld Music Fund has been established in honor of Sylvia and Cantor Emeritus Joseph Rosenfeld. Sanctuary Seat Endowment Fund - $750 or $1,000A seat in the Sanctuary may be dedicated to commemorate a special occasion or honor the memory of a loved one. An endowed seat serves both as a timeless tribute and a source of support for our Congregation. Seats may be endowed on the main floor of the Sanctuary or on the side or balcony. Selma T. and Joseph Wagner Fund for Worship Enhancement for the DisabledEnhances worship for members of the congregation with disabilities. Torah Commentary Gifts - $75 minimumPurchase the Union for Reform Judaism’s Torah Commentary for use by congregants at services and study sessions. A bookplate will be placed in each book purchased. Norma and Boris Yaffe Young Adult FundSupports programs to strengthen synagogue connection of young adults, 20s and 30s, who were connected to BHC growing up. Youth Scholarship FundProvides scholarships for students in our Religious School to attend special youth programs which promote Jewish identity and knowledge, including trips to Israel and Youth Camps. |
